This grant has been established in honor and memory of Thomas Michael Hardy, Sr.
Tom., 56, of San Diego, California, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, from complications of young-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

Born on July 21, 1969, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Constance and Donald Hardy, Tom lived a life grounded in faith, family, service, and adventure. He earned degrees from the University of Arizona and Colorado State University and built a respected career in commercial real estate and construction, working for The Weitz Company, Saia Enterprises, and the U.S. General Services Administration. He was especially proud of his role in the construction of the Carter Keep U.S. Courthouse in San Diego.

An Eagle Scout, Tom carried the values of Scouting throughout his life and found great joy mentoring young people. He especially treasured backpacking adventures with his sons, creating lifelong memories while teaching resilience, confidence, and character.

Tom will be remembered for his unwavering faith, warm sense of humor, and gentle spirit. He loved the outdoors and embraced every opportunity to ski, bike, hike, wakeboard, play tennis, enjoy the beach, or simply spend time with family and friends.

Above all, Tom was a devoted husband and father. His greatest joy was his family, and he cherished every moment spent encouraging, supporting, and sharing life's adventures with them.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 23 years, Michelle Welde Hardy; his children, Thomas "TJ" Hardy, Jr., Matthew, Kathryn, and Elizabeth "Ellie" Hardy; his parents, Constance and Donald Hardy; his siblings, Pamela Ronalter and Jeffrey Hardy; and many cherished extended family members and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Ca
Tom's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will always remember his dedication, love, and the joy he brought into their lives. 💙 💙 💙
